MOTORLAPS RACING SERIES - Scoring System Explained
How race points, MotorPoints, and the jury system work across every MotorLaps championship series.
Race points
Series standings use race points (also called podium points). Each classified finish earns a fixed score by position. These points decide championship order on each series page.
Same calendar day
When a series runs more than one race on the same calendar day, only your two best scores count: the better result at 100%, the next at 25%.
Example: P2 (760) plus P4 (439 × 0.25 = 109.75) = 869.75 race points for that day.
MotorPoints
MotorPoints (MP) track reputation, attendance, and fair play. They are separate from race points and do not change when you simply register for an event. No show penalties apply only when a race log has been uploaded: if you are still registered (not cancelled) and your sim name does not appear on that log, the platform treats it as a validated attendance breach. A soft reminder appears when your most recent logged event is a confirmed no-show; finishing your next registered event clears it. After ten confirmed no-shows on your account, new event registration is blocked until staff review on Discord.

The grid bonus uses every driver listed in the official race results file, not registration count alone. Event pages show how many more signups are needed to reach the next tier as a guide before the race. Participation (+30 MP) and position finish bonuses are both multiplied. Penalties and cancel fees are never multiplied.
Example: 7 drivers registered - we need 3 more people to double MotorPoints. Example: 11 drivers registered - double MotorPoints active; we need 9 more friends to triple MP.
Jury system
Drivers can file a short incident clip. Two jury members watch both videos. Each juror can fault the claimed driver or the driver who uploaded the clips.
- Jury service is off until you turn it on from your driver profile. It stays unavailable until your safety rating is above 200.
- A report needs two MP4 clips, 15 MB each. Clip A shows the incident. Clip B is the chase camera of the claimed driver with steering, throttle, and brake inputs visible. Press the Tab key in-game so names are on screen.
- Two jurors vote. Each vote is half of the level they pick: small contact is 20 and counts as 10, a takeout is 50 and counts as 25. A 20 and a 50 on the same driver become 35. Fault can land on the claimed driver, the uploader, or both.
- Each juror earns +50 MP when the case closes. You cannot vote when your own name is on the report.
Rewards

To claim a reward, send a screenshot of your MotorPoints total plus your name and shipping address in a Discord DM to admin. At 20,000 MP you can claim the certificate and/or the sticker pack in the same message. For the shirt, include size and cut (M/W). We verify your account before shipping.
Account rules
- New accounts start with 1,000 MP.
- At signup you can pick who invited you: they get 1,000 MP, and you get 500 MP extra after email verification.
- Balances below 0 MP block new account registration from that IP (existing drivers can still sign in).
- Series leaderboards show the top 10 drivers by race points or MotorPoints, depending on the table.
